Subset / Insert
Subsets differ from insert sets in that they are part of the main set. That means that they follow the numbering of the main set as well. However, subsets may have a slightly different design or have a unifying theme. Insert cards are not part of the regular numbering system of a set of sports cards and they tend to have a unique design.
Variations / Parallels
A parallel is a card that is identical to the base but with a different color border, refractor, or other patterns. A lot of these can be serial numbered. Parallels are always easy to spot. A variation will always contain something different from the base card. Usually it’s a different image, nickname, or error. These also can be serial numbered, but usually a variation is just a “new version” of the base and are tougher to spot than parallels.
What is the minimum acceptable grade for your card?
We allow collectors to determine a minimum acceptable grade. For example, a collector may specify that if a card receives a grade lower than an 8, it will not be encapsulated, instead you can choose for your card to be ‘’authenticated’’.
NOTE: your cards will be given a numeric grade unless they are deemed to be altered (trimmed, recolored etc.), which would then be sealed and authenticated in a standard Beckett Authentic/Altered case or for Authentic Only – your cards will not receive a numeric grade but will be placed into a Beckett holder and labeled as “Authentic” if they are deemed to be authentic, standard grading fees apply, by checking the appropriate box
