Anna Korakaki, a Two-Time Olympic Medalist, one-time World Champion and two-time European Chapion in the event of Air Pistol, as well as the first woman to ever receive the Olympic Light in the history of the Olympic Games, takes the stage at the Trace ‘N Chase court, discussing with Vassilis Skountis all things about air pistols and shooting, Olympic Games, her relationship with her dad and coach and her brother, her love about animals as well as her promising future in the sport!

Korakaki has competed in shooting since 2009 and has been a member of the Greek national team since 2010. She is with the Orion Shooting Club of Thessaloniki and she is coached by her father and retired shooter Tassos Korakakis. She won the first Gold medal for Greece, since the country hosted the Olympics back in 2004. At the age of 20 and in just her maiden Olympic campaign, she became the first Greek woman to win two Olympic medals in the same competition and the first Greek athlete in general since 1912. On March 12, 2020, she became the first woman to be the first Olympic torchbearer of an Olympic torch relay.

Distinguished results include:

  • Gold and bronze medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
  • Gold medal (10 m air pistol) and 9th place (25 m air pistol) at the 2018 World Championships in Changwon.
  • Gold and two Bronze medal at the 2018 World Cup in Fort Benning.
  • Gold medal at the 2018 World Cup Final in Guadalajara.
  • Gold and silver medal at the 2016 World Cup in Bologna.
  • Gold and silver medal at the 2019 European Games in Minsk.
  • Gold and Bronze medal at the 2017 World Cup Final in Munich.
  • Gold and silver medal at the 2016 Junior World Cup in Suhl.
  • Gold medal at the 2014 European Junior Championship in Moscow.
  • Two silver medals at the 2016 World Cup in Baku.
  • Silver medal at the 2015 European Games in Baku.
  • Silver medal at the 2015 World Cup Final in Munich.
  • Silver medal at the 2011 European Junior Championship in Belgrade.
  • Bronze medal at the 2015 World Cup in Fort Benning.
  • Bronze medal at the 2014 World Junior Championship in Granada.
