The finale of the first season of UniquAll took place last week with a wonderful event at the Indoor Gym of the Leontios School of Athens and Trace ‘N Chase was happy to be present and to support a great cause by once again gifting NBA cards to fans of the game!
The mastermind behind the initiative, former basketball star Dimitris Papanikolaou, the Head Coach of the program Giannis Tsoumbris and the coaches of UniquAll
welcomed the athletes of the Sports Inclusion Program, their parents and relatives, but also athletes of the Eurohoops Academy and AONS Milon. The event started with Dimitris Papanikolaou talking about the tremendous amount of work that everybody contributed to the realization of his vision, while he pledged that this is only the beginning of what UniquAll aims to achieve!
Sofoklis Schortsanitis followed, stressing how important is for all children to break down all kinds of stereotypes through sports. The children on the Autism Spectrum and the athletes of the Eurohoops Academy and of Milonas then merged into one team and proved once again that sports has the power to unite. Then Ada Stamatatou, an activist for Autism and the mother of an autistic young man addressed the families of the children of UniquAll and congratulated Dimitris Papanikolaou while Ioanna Paliospyrou followed, with her own message showing her faith in the new generation for the creation of an inclusive society.
The Closing Ceremony ended with the awards of the participants and supporters. The athletes of UniquAll received their medals from Ada Stamatatou, while the athletes of Eurohoops Academy and of Milonas from Sofoklis Schortsanitis. This was followed by the awarding of the volunteers for their valuable contribution, which was accompanied by an educational scholarship of a total amount of € 750. The awards were then completed with the valuable supporters, Trace ‘N Chase, Novibet, MEGA Channel, the Municipality of Athens and Leontios School of Athens receiving a commemorative tablet.
Dimitris Papanikolaou officially gave the finale of the first cycle, renewing everyone’s appointment for the new season!
