The 3×3 Tournament by Trace ‘n Chase took place at the Eurohoops Dome on Sunday, May 19, with over 120 athletes aged 15 to 55 participating in a fantastic event. The first-ever 3×3 collaboration, part of Eurohoops and Trace ‘n Chase’s joint efforts to promote their passion for the game of basketball, offered 3×3 enthusiasts the chance to play the fast-paced game for free in state-of-the-art facilities, all while receiving collectible sports cards and getting the chance to win a Jamal Murray Denver Nuggets Fanatics Authentic Autographed Nike 2021 Navy Icon Swingman Jersey! The presence of EuroLeague legend and Eurohoops Academy Director, Thodoris Papaloukas, added a special touch to the event.
The Eurohoops Dome was filled with athletes of all genres and levels, from young talented hoopers to seasoned veterans who were eager to play 3×3 basketball. Participants in all three categories received NBA repacks featuring Panini America trading cards of NBA stars, past and present and for approximately four hours, competitive action took place on the facility’s six courts.
High-level games occurred in the 16-18 category, with young athletes showcasing their skills. Team Main Squad and team El Pavlius reached the final, with El Pavlius winning 16-8 thanks to their long-range shooting. In the 19-34 category, two frequent 3×3 tournament teams in Athens, Hoop Fellaz and Arlek 4.0, faced off. The Hoop Fellaz, composed of three young men and one young woman, prevailed with a score of 19-13. In the 35+ category, Panacota Majorblues and Runners competed in another exciting game that went into overtime, with the Majorblues winning 15-13. All finals featured the presence of EuroLeague icon Thodoris Papaloukas!
The event concluded with awards for the winners and a raffle draw for the big prize of the tournament, a Jamal Murray Denver Nuggets Fanatics Authentic Autographed Nike 2021 Navy Icon Swingman Jersey. Thodoris Papaloukas drew the lucky entry and awarded the winner alongside with Trace ‘n Chase’s representative, Account Manager Dimitris Samartzidis. Winners from each age group received a 2021 Panini Milwaukee Bucks NBA Champions Team Set Box and a 2022 Panini Golden State Warriors NBA Champions Team Set together with medals and Eurohoops souvenirs!
