Growing the Game: Trace ’n Chase Supports NFL Flag Football Camps in Greece!

Trace ’n Chase was proud to serve as the official sports cards and memorabilia supplier during the recent NFL Flag Football Camps in Thessaloniki and Athens by the LA Chargers, supporting a major initiative that highlights the rapid growth of the sport in Greece.

Bringing the energy of the NFL to a new generation, the camps showcased flag football as an exciting, fast-paced, and accessible version of the game, one that continues to gain global momentum, especially with its inclusion in the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

NFL and the LA Chargers Return to Greece

The initiative marked a significant moment for the sport locally, as the Los Angeles Chargers, owned by the Greek-American Spanos family, played a key role in strengthening the connection between the NFL and Greece.

Across two cities, Thessaloniki and Athens, and in a short span of 2 days, young athletes had the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of flag football while experiencing the values of teamwork, discipline, and competition that define the game.

Inspiring the Next Generation

The two-day event kicked off at Anatolia College in Thessaloniki and continued in Athens at Deree – The American College of Greece, bringing together more than 600 participants aged 11 to 13 years old

One of the highlights of the camps was the presence of Daiyan Henley, current linebacker for the LA Chargers, who trained with the kids, shared his experience as an NFL player, and helped inspire the next generation of athletes.

Connecting Sports and the Hobby

As the official sports cards and memorabilia supplier, Trace ’n Chase enhanced the experience by providing sports cards to all participants, giving boys and girls a unique opportunity to connect with the game beyond the field.

For many of the kids, receiving trading cards added a new dimension to their experience, introducing them to the world of collecting while creating lasting memories tied to their first exposure to American football.

Building the Future of the Game

With 2 cities, 2 camps, and over 600 young participants, the NFL Flag Football initiative demonstrated the growing appeal of the sport in Greece and its potential to inspire future generations.
