(Editor’s note: With just a few hours left for the NFL Draft, Drew takes a look at the projected remaining picks in the first round of his Mock Draft)
➡️ Don’t forget to follow us on Twitter on Thursday night for live coverage of the draft picks!
The departure of 8× Pro Bowl Patrick Peterson left Arizona ‘’wide naked’’ at the CB spot. It’s either Caleb Farley or Greg Newsome II (despite the high risk due to injury concerns about him); my pick is C. Farley. And yes, a healthy Farley is maybe the best CB in the draft.
Las Vegas Raiders
Las(t) Vegas Raiders…the nomads of the NFL (lol). I wish Las Vegas had an NFL team back in 2017, when I spent the Christmas week there… “okay, enough with the dreaming Andrew’’, with the No 17 pick of the 2021 NFL draft the Las Vegas Raiders select Micah Parsons, LB from Penn State University.
That’s the second and last first round pick for Miami. Assuming that they select Jaylen Waddle with their first pick, it’s likely that they go with a defensive player. Azeez Ojulari, an edge rusher from Georgia, is the perfect pick here.
Washington Football Team
Washington arguably has the best starting defensive line in the NFL and they are pretty young! In my ‘’crystal sphere’’, I see the selection of the best WR available. Rashod Bateman, an NFL-ready route-runner is the guy and Fitz-magic Round XVIII is loaded again!!
The team that picked Mitchell Trubisky over Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson ??♂️.. that sentence alone concludes Chicago’s last three years. After a two year absence, due to the Khalil Mack trade, they are back in the first round. Alijah Vera-Tucker had the highest pass-blocking grade overall for the past two seasons and looks like the perfect fit here.
The Colts will pick the best edge rusher available, and the chosen one is… Jaelan Phillips, one of the best pass rushers in the draft.
Everything points towards a pass rusher pick here, but I will go against the flow, and I am guessing the CB which Arizona left in the No. 16 pick, Greg Newsome II. The Northwestern cornerback is coming off an outstanding season and the Titans will capitalize on his skills immediately.
New York Jets
This is the second first round pick of the Jets, the first time in eight years (!). This pick can really go any way…its hard to guess but I will keep the name of Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah who could be one of the quickest linebackers in the NFL.
For me, it’s the first and the only RB pick in the first round. Najee Harris is the name and the Steelers are the second best team that he could fit-in instantly.
If I were the Jaguars GM, I would have gone with a WR.. they need more stardust, even after the Trevor Lawrence selection with the No. 1 pick of the 2021 Draft. One of the two Moore’s.. I need a moment here…I’ll go with Elijah Moore.
I really like Baker Mayfield and the Browns are arguably in for a SB run this year. They need help asap and DL Christian Barmore is a solid pick here, if available of course…
Call me a hater but I don’t see a playoff run for the Ravens until at least 2023. They will pick either an edge rusher or a safety. Maybe it’s too early, but I’ll go with Trevon Moehrig. His explosiveness defines him and it’s the reason teams want him badly.
New Orleans Saints
I wish the Saints find their way, by naming loser Jameis Winston as their starting QB (haha). They are traditionally really good at picking players in the draft. They need some help in the secondary, so it is Jamin Davis or Zaven Collins. I will pick the second one for his outstanding athletic profile.
Green Bay Packers
The team that left the regular season MVP without some much-needed extra help, or the team that pushed Aaron Rodgers to his limits, by picking a QB in 2020 NFL draft? Whatever side you take, everyone agrees that Packers picks are awesome!
It’s WR Rondale’s Moore turn…
My beloved Buffalo, even though I’ am a Pats fan. They are really close to a SB ( Mahomes hurdle alert ) and they need help, in the CB position. They will draft the best cornerback available, and maybe the name is, Asante Samuel Jr.
Orlando Brown HAS to be replaced! If Teven Jenkins is still on the board, it’s a no-brainer.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The undisputed number one SB finalist and they own a pick in the first round. Yesterday, with AB’s signing, they achieved something unimaginable as all of the 22 SB starters are back! Their pick can be safety, Trevon Moehrig, but I don’t believe he will be available. Therefore, edge rusher Jayson Oweh is the perfect add!
That’s all from me guys, hoped you enjoyed both parts!
