Fresh off being named coach of the year in Israel after leading Hapoel Holon to its best-ever season yet and winning the Balkan League, coach Stefanos Dedas visited Trace ‘N Chase in order to talk about basketball and his return to Greece after a succesfull track record over Europe the last few years.
Stefanos began his basketball coaching career at just 19 years of age with PAOK B.C. of the Greek Basket League, working as an assistant coach from 2001 up to 2004 before moving on to MENT B.C. where he first became the assistant coach and then the head coach of the club.

He was instrumental in leading Holon to a tremendously succesfully season, making it to the Basketball Champions League Final-8 and winning the Balkan League! On a personal level he was a candidate for the Coach of the Season award in the BCL as all of his great work in Turkey and Israel over the last six years did not gone unnoticed. In the summer of 2021 Coach Dedas accepted AEK’s offer to become the team’s head coach, returning to Greece after 10 years of a successful career around Europe!
Coach Dedas signed a two-year deal with AEK B.C. and he will be entering the new season in the Greek Basket League with a roster that includes Nikos Pappas, Giorgos Bogris, Dimitris Mavroeidis, Manny Harris and Eric Griffin among others!
